AFCEA(London Chapter) serve its members by:

The provision of a forum for the ethical exchange of
information by linking the MOD, wider Government and Industrial
Information Systems professionals.

Educating and increasing professional knowledge of
members through the exploration of relevant issues in the field of
Technology and Information Systems.
AFCEA (London Chapter) aims to:

Provide networking opportunities for Information Systems
professionals.

Develop professional expertise through the full and frank
exchange of ideas in a friendly and ethical environment

Facilitate briefings from influential speakers from
across the MOD and Industry.

Facilitate exclusive visits to MOD and member
sites/facilities for targeted briefings.

Facilitate corporate luncheons in other to meet senior
directors and managers from the field of Technology and Information
Systems.
OBJECTIVES (Year 2009/2010)
Wider AFCEA Planning:
Foster the relationships with, and provide mutual support to, the other UK
AFCEA chapters in other to strengthen the chapter’s standing within the UK
and the wider AFCEA corporation and maximise resource utilisation.

Organise one corporate event over the year with other
AFCEA chapters.

The biennial symposium, TRICIS, brings together core
military, government and commercial representatives.

Set the conditions for a single UK TRICIS 2010.

Establish a date, committee and draft programme.
Member Services:
The chapter must continue to meet it’s members needs in other to attract
new members and retain existing ones.

Consult with members twice/annum.

Incorporate the requirements of the membership within
the annual programme

Encourage increased active participation by MoD staff –
esp Heads of C4ISR capabilities and their Desk Officers. (Sec)

Encourage Snr MOD personnel to agree to brief the
membership on a routine basis. (President)

Organise

Ten monthly meetings per annum, together with a
corporate luncheon and a group golf tournament.

Two external visits a year to locations of interest
to the community.

Run two meetings within the MoD MB.
Membership:
Strong Membership of AFCEA is a core requirement and it is essential that
there is growth within the commercial / Industrial, Military and Government
areas.
-
Ensure the maintenance and regular review of accurate
records of the Chapter and inform members when membership is due to
lapse.
-
Increase individual membership by 5% in 09/10,
with the emphasis on uniformed/government members.
Aim for:
-
A minimum of 40 members at monthly meetings. (Lead:
Events Co-ordinator)

A minimum of 100 members at the corporate lunch. (Lead:
Sec)
Finance:
As a self-financing and non-profit making organisation, all revenues raised
must be used to first maintain that position and then to meet the wider aims
of the organisation. Surplus revenues can be directed into the provision of
awards for achievement and selected charities.

Maintain AFCEA (London) on a sound financial basis.

Publicity:
The chapter must seek to advertise it’s services and events widely to both
existing members and a wider audience.

Communicate with existing members via the use of an
effective newsletter on a quarterly basis. (Lead: Newsletter
Coordinator)

Maintain an updated and relevant website. (Lead:
Webmaster)

Ensure newsletter advertising and handbills in MoD MB and
military training establishments. (Lead: Marketing Coordinator)

Active recruitment by uniformed and MoD members.
Awards:
The chapter should participate in the International Awards scheme and
submit deserving submissions.
