AFCEA London – 19/20 August 2019 – Young AFCEA RAF Waddington Station Visit – Digby/Waddington
Young AFCEA – RAF Waddington Station Visit
Following on from the highly successful Station Visit in February, the London Chapter Young AFCEA Sub-Committee has arranged for another group of 25 people (maximum) to be hosted on a Station visit to RAF Waddington on Tuesday 20th August 2019. This will include an overnight stay in Mess Accommodation at RAF Digby, on the evening of Monday 19th August, where 25 rooms have been reserved.
The Draft Programme below details the plan:
- Mon 19th August
Afternoon: Arrivals in afternoon at RAF Digby.
Evening (Time tbc): Fireside chat with ISTAR Force Commander @ RAF Waddington.
1900: Young AFCEAs first Black Tie dinner/Mess function.
2359: Taxis back to RAF Digby.
- Tues 20th August
0830: MT bus to collect pers from RAF Digby.
0900-1500: Station visit programme. (With Lunch featuring ISTAR Force Cdr & others)
1500: YAFCEANS depart.
This event is intended specifically for young people from our defence industry Corporate Members – e.g. apprentices / graduate trainees taking their first steps in the CIS / C4ISR world. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and preference will be given to AFCEA Members. However, we will not exclude non-members (who will be actively encouraged to join!!).
The AFCEA fee will be £45 per person and will include both the Formal Dinner on the Monday evening and Lunch on the Tuesday. This is more expensive than the last Station Visit, but it does include the formal Mess function. Payment details will be announced later.
Transport to RAF Digby and from RAF Digby / RAF Waddington is not included, so participants will need to make their own arrangements. RAF Digby is about a 15 minute drive from Waddington. Further details will be included in the joining instructions, which will be distributed to participants closer to the event.
This is an unclassified visit, so a security clearance is not mandated. However, participants will require formal photo ID (driving license or passport – not company ID). Again, details will be included in the joining instructions. If you do not have an SC, you will need to be escorted.
Fg Off Todd Lynes Air 38Gp – A6 at High Wycombe (via ) is the Project Officer (organiser) for this event. Please send initial expressions of interest to Todd ASAP and absolutely no later than 28 June.
If you are interested in learning about future Young AFCEA events and would like to join our mail group, please indicate this in your response to this event.
